Two Kyrgyz Fugitives Wanted by Interpol Arrested at Phuket Hotel

Thai authorities have detained two men from Kyrgyzstan who were internationally wanted in connection with a serious criminal case involving kidnapping and murder.

The suspects, identified as Aiat and Adilet, both aged 26, were the subjects of Interpol Red Notices. They face multiple charges in their home country, including abduction, unlawful detention, assault leading to death, and murder.

The arrests took place on April 25 at a hotel in Patong, located in Kathu district of Phuket. The operation was carried out jointly by officers from the Crime Suppression Division and Phuket Immigration after tracking the suspects’ movements.

According to investigators, the case dates back to April 11, when the two men allegedly abducted a victim identified as Jiang in Kyrgyzstan. His body was later discovered in a valley within the Archa forest in Alamudun district, Chuy province.

Following the incident, the suspects reportedly fled the country and traveled to Thailand. Authorities in Kyrgyzstan coordinated with Interpol to issue Red Notices, identifying them as key suspects in the case.

Thai police later received intelligence about their whereabouts, leading officers from the Crime Suppression Division’s Subdivision 5 to locate the pair at a hotel in Phuket. A joint task force then carried out the arrests.

During initial questioning, both men denied the accusations. Thai authorities have since revoked their

permission to stay in the country and are proceeding under immigration law.

According to reports, the suspects are expected to be deported back to Kyrgyzstan, where they will face legal proceedings.

The case has sparked discussion online, with many praising the swift action by Thai police, while others questioned how individuals listed under Interpol Red Notices were able to enter and remain in Thailand.
