Chalong Underpass to Close Overnight for Road Repairs on November 8–9

The Department of Highways (DOH) has announced another round of roadworks at the Chalong Underpass, this time to repair the road surface inside the tunnel. The work is scheduled to take place overnight from November 8 to 9.

According to a notice issued by the Phuket office of the Department of Highways, the underpass will be closed to all traffic from 10pm on November 8 until 4am on November 9.

During the closure, motorists will need to use the surface-level lanes around Chalong Circle instead of travelling through the tunnel.

The notice does not mention any separate traffic restrictions on the roundabout itself.

Drivers are advised to take the temporary closure into account when planning their journeys and allow extra time for travel.
