Two Injured as House Fire Breaks Out in Wichit Housing Estate

Two people were injured after a house caught fire in a residential estate in Wichit, Phuket, late on the night of July 5, 2026.

Emergency services received reports of the blaze at approximately 11:16 p.m., triggering a large-scale response from local authorities.
The operation was overseen by Wichit Mayor Kreetha Chotivichphipat, who coordinated firefighters, disaster prevention and mitigation personnel, public safety officials, rescue volunteers, and officers from Wichit Police Station. Several fire engines, water tankers, patrol vehicles, and ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters battled the flames using high-pressure water hoses and succeeded in bringing the fire under control after about 40 minutes, preventing it from spreading further.
According to firefighters, two people suffered injuries during the incident. Rescue teams transported both victims to Vachira Phuket Hospital, where they received medical treatment.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. Officials are examining the scene and collecting evidence to determine how the blaze started.
