Two Injured After House Fire in Koh Kaew, Cause Under Investigation

A fire that broke out at a residential property in Koh Kaew on June 8 is under investigation by Phuket police and emergency officials. Two people were injured in the incident and later taken to hospital.

According to a police report, authorities were alerted to the fire at approximately 4:00 p.m., while the blaze itself reportedly started at 3:49 p.m. The incident occurred in the Chaofa Garden Home housing estate in Koh Kaew.

The alarm was raised by 70-year-old resident Saowani Maliwan, who ran from the house calling for help as flames spread through the property. A 38-year-old neighbor, Wisarut Khamchee, rushed to assist her in attempting to control the fire.

Both individuals were later transported to hospital for treatment.

Emergency response teams arrived at the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze before it could spread to nearby homes. Firefighters and officials from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) worked to secure the area and prevent further damage.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and authorities are continuing their investigation. The extent of the property damage also remains unclear.

Police noted that witnesses reported hearing a loud sound resembling a gas explosion shortly before the fire, although no official conclusion has been reached regarding the source of the incident.
