Two Arrested in Patong Drug Crackdown Following Community Tips

Patong police have detained two individuals accused of drug trafficking after an undercover operation launched in response to complaints from local residents about suspected narcotics activity.

According to investigators, the first arrest involved a 35-year-old woman, identified only as Pa. Officers intercepted her outside a hotel on Phra Metta Road, where they allegedly found several packets of crystal methamphetamine, yaba tablets, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone in her possession.

The investigation continued after the initial arrest, leading police to a second suspect. A 38-year-old man, identified as Kit, was taken into custody inside a hotel room in Patong. During the search, officers reportedly recovered additional quantities of crystal methamphetamine, yaba tablets, and mobile phones.

Both suspects now face multiple charges, including possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to distribute, drug trafficking for commercial purposes, and illegal drug consumption.

Police stated that the operation was initiated after residents alerted authorities to suspicious activity in the area. Acting on the information received, officers deployed undercover personnel and conducted a targeted sting operation that resulted in the arrests and seizure of evidence.

The suspects and all confiscated items were transferred to Patong Police Station, where legal proceedings are continuing.
