Tourist and Daughter Injured in Jet Ski Collision Off Phuket
A Saudi Arabian tourist and his 14-year-old daughter were hospitalised after the jet ski they were riding collided with another watercraft near Naka Island off Phuket’s east coast on September 29.

The incident took place at around 5:50pm in the waters off Naka Island in Paklok subdistrict, Thalang district. The injured tourists were identified as 35-year-old Saeed Abdullah S. Al-Sadiq and his 14-year-old daughter, Arij Faisal A. Al-Deifi.
According to the reported account, the family of six was vacationing in Phuket and staying at Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa. For a trip around Naka Island, the group rented two jet skis from JB Phuket Jet Ski.
Al-Sadiq and his daughter were travelling together on one jet ski, while a woman accompanying the family was operating the second. The preliminary account indicates that the woman lost control of her jet ski and collided with the watercraft carrying the father and daughter.
Both father and daughter suffered lung injuries. The newspaper account described the injuries as a “punctured lung”. The father also sustained fractured ribs.
After the collision, Al-Sadiq was reportedly underwater for about three minutes. His daughter was said to have remained underwater for approximately two to three minutes. Despite the severity of their injuries, both were conscious after being rescued.
Paklok Municipality rescue personnel provided initial assistance on shore. The father and daughter were first taken to Thalang Hospital before being transferred to Bangkok Hospital Siriroj.
A police report on the incident generally confirms the circumstances reported publicly, including that the collision occurred during a family outing involving two rented jet skis.
The investigation is being handled by Thalang Police. No information about charges against anyone had been reported at the time of publication.
