Three Deaths Reported in Phuket During First Days of Songkran Road Safety Campaign

Phuket authorities have confirmed a total of three fatalities during the first three days of the Songkran “Seven Days of Danger” road safety campaign, which runs from April 10 to 16, 2026.

On April 12 alone—the third day of the monitoring period—two road accidents were recorded across the island. These incidents resulted in two people being hospitalized: one man and one woman. According to officials, the injured were foreign nationals from France and Myanmar.

Cumulative data for the period from April 10 to April 12 shows 14 road accidents in total. Eleven people were admitted to hospitals with injuries, including seven men and four women. The reported nationalities of those injured include Thailand, Russia, the United Kingdom, Myanmar, Turkey, and France.

During the same period, three fatalities were confirmed. All of the deceased were Thai nationals, including two men and one woman.

Officials also noted a revision to earlier statistics. On April 13, authorities updated the figures for the first day of the campaign, increasing the number of reported accidents from four to five, and the death toll from one to two.
