Thailand Speeds Up Flood Relief and Insurance Payments for Phuket Residents
The Thai government is accelerating emergency assistance and insurance compensation for residents affected by heavy rainfall and flooding in Phuket province.
Response teams have been deployed to support affected communities, remove debris and help restore areas damaged by floodwater. Authorities are also working to ensure that eligible residents can access financial assistance as quickly as possible.

Initial insurance payments of 10,000 baht
Under the National Catastrophe Insurance Scheme, which came into effect on October 1, insurance companies have been instructed to speed up initial compensation payments of 10,000 baht to eligible residents affected by flooding, flash floods and landslides.
Additional assistance may be provided after authorities complete damage assessments and verify the required supporting documents.

Registration for assistance open until November 6
Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploytalay Laksameesangchan announced that residents can register for disaster relief assistance until November 6.
Registration is available from 9am to 4.30pm at the Senior Citizens’ Club Center Building at Patong Municipality.
Applicants should prepare the following documents:
A copy of their national identification card.
A copy of their house registration document.
Photographs showing the damage.
A list of damaged property.
A rental agreement, where applicable, for tenants.
Government agencies have been instructed to assist residents with the registration process and help ensure timely access to available relief measures.
Authorities will continue coordinating recovery operations, assessing damage and processing compensation claims to reduce the financial burden on affected households and support their recovery.
