A large-scale trade fair showcasing products from southern Thailand officially opened on April 30 in Phuket and will run through May 4. The event is being held at Saphan Hin Park, now formally known as Rama X Park.

Branded as “Iconic Southern Thailand,” the fair brings together producers from 14 provinces across the southern region. Visitors can explore 21 booths representing local businesses from Phuket, alongside 80 additional stalls operated by vendors from neighboring provinces.

The range of goods on display goes far beyond food. In addition to regional cuisine, the fair features clothing, household items, decorative products, and handcrafted goods. A special highlight is the opportunity to discover products with Geographical Indication (GI) status, which certifies their unique origin and quality.

Among them are Phuket pineapples, sea bass from Songkhla, oysters from Surat Thani, and coffee from Krabi.

Beyond retail, the five-day event also includes a business-focused program aimed at entrepreneurs. Organizers have arranged activities designed to strengthen interprovincial cooperation, encourage networking, and open up new distribution channels for local producers.
