Serial Burglar Arrested After Weeks of Thefts Across Phuket

Police in Phuket have arrested a 27-year-old suspect believed to be responsible for a series of burglaries committed across several districts of the island.

Officers from Wichit Police Station carried out an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court and located the suspect, identified only as Mr. Sun, hiding inside the ceiling of a rented room in Sri Sunthorn, Thalang District. He was taken into custody and transferred to Wichit Police Station for further questioning.

Investigators believe the suspect was involved in multiple thefts in Wichit, Kathu, and possibly other parts of Phuket over recent weeks.

According to police, the crime spree included several separate incidents. On June 13, the suspect allegedly cut fuel lines on motorcycles parked at an apartment complex in Wichit before siphoning petrol into bottles. The following day, he is accused of breaking into coin-operated washing machines in Na Suea Soi to steal money.

On June 19, police say he entered a residence at Central Residence in Wichit, where he stole shoes, clothing, cash, and other personal belongings.

Authorities also suspect him of involvement in thefts at several bars in Kathu. In addition, he remains wanted in connection with a separate firearms-related case.

Police believe the suspect may be linked to further offenses committed elsewhere on the island. Investigators are now working with other police stations across Phuket to determine whether he was involved in additional burglaries and related crimes.
