Russian Woman Arrested Over Alleged Illegal Cosmetic Clinic in Phuket Villa

A Russian national was arrested in Phuket after authorities uncovered an alleged unlicensed cosmetic clinic operating inside a luxury villa in Thalang district.

The suspect, identified by police only as 45-year-old Kristine, faces multiple charges, including operating a medical facility without authorization, selling unregistered medical devices, and distributing medicines without the required permits.

The arrest followed an investigation into reports that aesthetic procedures were being offered illegally from the property. After gathering evidence, officers obtained a search warrant from the Phuket Provincial Court and conducted a raid on June 7.

According to investigators, Kristine introduced herself as the owner of the villa and cooperated with officers during the search. Inside a room on the ground floor, police found a Thai woman lying on a treatment bed in what appeared to be an active cosmetic procedure.

During the inspection, officers discovered a large quantity of medicines, medical equipment, and supplies commonly used for aesthetic treatments. In total, authorities seized 130 items from 32 different categories, with an estimated value exceeding 600,000 baht.

Among the confiscated products were botulinum toxin injections (Botox), hyaluronic acid fillers, injectable collagen, local anesthetics, syringes, and other materials associated with cosmetic enhancement procedures.

Police stated that Kristine was unable to provide documentation authorizing the operation of a medical facility or proof of professional medical qualifications. During questioning, she reportedly admitted that the villa was not licensed as a clinic and acknowledged that she did not possess a valid medical practitioner’s license.

Investigators also said she admitted that some of the medicines, medical devices, and equipment had been transported from Russia through an airport before being used to treat clients in Phuket.

All seized items were taken as evidence, and the suspect was transferred to Thalang Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Thai authorities regularly conduct inspections targeting unauthorized clinics, citing concerns over patient safety, unapproved products, and medical procedures performed without proper oversight.
