Authorities in Phuket are preparing for an official visit by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, scheduled for June 1. The princess, who is the sister of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, will attend a formal ceremony to inaugurate a newly constructed building at Chalermprakiat Somdej Phra Srinakarin School.

Preparations are already underway following a coordination meeting held on May 1, where provincial officials instructed all relevant agencies to complete arrangements well in advance of the royal visit. While the exact schedule has not been disclosed, traffic management plans are also yet to be announced, as such details are often released closer to the event—or sometimes not made public at all.

The school, located in the Saphan Hin area, is named in honor of Princess Srinagarindra, the mother of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. It is widely known as the “Princess Mother’s School” among locals.

Although no additional stops have been officially confirmed, it is considered likely that the princess may also visit the nearby Thai Red Cross facility. As the executive vice president of the Thai Red Cross Society, Princess Sirindhorn actively supports national blood donation initiatives—a mission historically associated with her parents.
