Phuket Woman Arrested with Crystal Meth and Yaba in Town Drug Crackdown

A coordinated anti-drug operation in Phuket Town has led to the arrest of a 44-year-old Thai woman accused of possessing and distributing illegal narcotics.

The operation was conducted by provincial authorities under the supervision of Phuket Governor Nirut Pongsitthathorn, Deputy Governor Adul Chuthong, and Acting Provincial Chief Officer Naphat Em-on, with support from the Department of Provincial Administration.

Officers detained the suspect, identified only as Ms. A, on Phunphol Road in the Talad Nuea area of Phuket Town. During the arrest, authorities seized approximately 26.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, along with 19 methamphetamine tablets, or yaba.

Following the initial detention, investigators expanded the operation and carried out a search of the suspect’s residence on Montri Road in the Talad Yai district. Additional evidence linked to the case was reportedly recovered during the search.

After being taken into custody, the suspect was transported to the Security Division of the Phuket Provincial Administration Office for preliminary processing before being transferred to investigators at Phuket City Police Station.

She is facing charges related to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, covering both crystal meth and yaba, as well as illegal drug use.

Authorities said the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and narcotics-related crimes across Phuket Province.
