Phuket Police Arrest Two Suspects in Drug and Illegal Gambling Bust

Authorities in Phuket have stepped up efforts to combat drug trafficking and illegal activities after conducting a raid at a rented property in Wichit that led to the arrest of two suspects.



The operation was carried out by district officials, Volunteer Defense Corps members, and Chief Administrative Officer Akara Suwattikul. During the search, officers discovered 178 methamphetamine pills, 0.45 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with several additional pieces of evidence connected to the case.


Investigators also uncovered materials linked to illegal online gambling operations. One of the suspects is accused of running an unauthorized online slot gambling service in addition to drug-related offenses.


Both suspects have been charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics, intent to distribute illegal drugs, and drug consumption. Authorities transferred the detainees and all confiscated evidence to investigators at Wichit Police Station for further legal action.


Police stated that the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to suppress narcotics distribution and other illegal activities across Phuket.
