Phuket Officials Inspect KTV Venues in Nighttime Safety Operation
Provincial and district officials in Phuket conducted nighttime inspections at two private karaoke establishments in Soi Phunphon, Muang Phuket District, on October 21 as part of ongoing efforts to improve public safety and maintain social order.

The operation was carried out under the direction of Phuket Governor Chotinrin Koedsom by the security unit of the Phuket Provincial Administration Office and Muang Phuket District officials.
Deputy Governor Romdon Hayiarwae and Acting Provincial Permanent Secretary Siwat Rawangkul, who also serves as Muang District Chief, supervised the inspection. The field team was led by Provincial Prevention Officer Akkara Suwatthikul, accompanied by Panjapong Boonchan, Jiradet Burarak and Thongchai Rattanadech. District security officers Apichat Chantrawong and Hiran Heedchan also took part, alongside Village Defense Volunteers.

Checks on legal compliance and drug prevention
Officials examined whether the venues were complying with regulations governing the age of employees and customers, drug prevention, anti-human trafficking measures, restrictions on weapons and other illegal items, and authorised operating hours.
Drug screening was conducted on 96 staff members and customers at the two establishments.
Preliminary results showed that 95 people tested negative, while one person received a positive screening result. The case was documented and referred for confirmatory testing and further legal procedures.

Authorities stressed that the positive result concerned an individual and did not, by itself, indicate wrongdoing by either establishment.
During the visit, officials also advised venue operators and employees on maintaining drug-free premises, protecting the safety of workers and customers, and complying with applicable laws and regulations.
Authorities reported that both businesses cooperated with the inspection team throughout the operation.
