Phuket Moves to Revoke Cannabis Shop License After Violations
Phuket authorities have begun proceedings to revoke the operating licence of a cannabis shop in Wichit after an inspection uncovered several violations of the conditions governing its operation.

The inspection was carried out on Friday, August 7, following complaints from local residents about gatherings and cannabis smoking inside the premises, which authorities said had raised concerns about a public nuisance.

Officials visited the shop and confirmed that it held a valid cannabis licence. However, inspectors found evidence that cannabis was being consumed inside the establishment.
The inspection also revealed that the shop did not have several mandatory tax documents, including Por Thor 27, Por Thor 28 and Por Thor 33. In addition, officials found no evidence that the business complied with Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) standards.
Authorities documented the violations during the inspection and have since launched the formal process to recommend revoking the shop's licence.
The action is part of a wider government effort to strengthen oversight of cannabis businesses in Thailand and ensure that licensed operators comply with regulations. Authorities said stricter enforcement is intended to reduce drug-related nuisances while protecting residents and tourists.
The case also highlights the growing scrutiny faced by cannabis businesses in Phuket as authorities continue to monitor whether shops comply with the conditions attached to their licences.
