Phuket Drug Bust Leads to Seizure of 3,000 Meth Pills and Firearm

Authorities in Phuket have arrested a man during a targeted anti-drug operation in Pa Khlok, resulting in the seizure of thousands of methamphetamine pills, crystal meth and an illegal firearm.

The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to combat narcotics-related crime in the province. During the raid, officers detained a male suspect and confiscated a significant quantity of illegal drugs along with a handgun and ammunition.

According to officials, the seized evidence included 3,000 methamphetamine tablets, 46.01 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a semi-automatic pistol with a magazine and one .38 Super cartridge.

Investigators have filed multiple charges against the suspect. These include possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to distribute, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as drug consumption and operating a vehicle while under the influence of Category 1 narcotics.

Following the arrest, the suspect and all confiscated items were transferred to Thalang Police Station, where further legal proceedings are underway.

Authorities said the operation reflects continued efforts to suppress drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession in Phuket and surrounding areas.
