Phuket Chosen as Filming Destination for Below Deck Season 13

Phuket has been selected as the primary filming location for the 13th season of the popular American reality television series Below Deck, with production teams scheduled to spend around 40 days shooting across the island and the Andaman Sea.

The internationally known show follows the lives of crew members working aboard luxury superyachts serving affluent guests. Over the years, the series has gained a strong following in major tourism markets, particularly in the United States and Europe.

The upcoming season will mark the second appearance of Phuket and the Andaman Sea in the franchise. The destination was previously featured in the ninth season, while other editions of the show have been filmed in locations such as Grenada and other Caribbean destinations.

Tourism officials view Below Deck as one of the most influential reality TV productions for promoting luxury travel and yachting. The exposure is expected to highlight Phuket’s coastline, marine attractions, and high-end tourism offerings to a global audience.

Filming is also projected to provide a significant economic boost to the local economy. Hotels, marinas, transport operators, catering companies, and production support businesses are expected to benefit from spending generated by the cast, crew, and associated personnel during the shoot.

Authorities believe the series will further strengthen Phuket’s reputation as a premier destination for luxury tourism and yacht travel, showcasing the island’s natural beauty and maritime infrastructure throughout the season.

Officials from the Phuket Provincial Marine Office have encouraged local residents and boat operators to support the production and assist with filming activities where possible. According to the agency, cooperation from the community will help reinforce Phuket’s image as both an international tourism destination and an attractive location for film and television projects.

Phuket has recently attracted growing attention from international producers. One of the most prominent projects was the third season of The White Lotus, which featured several locations across the island.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, filming for The White Lotus included Ya Nui Beach, Phuket Yacht Haven Marina, Bangla Boxing Stadium, Ta Khai Restaurant, Café del Mar Phuket, and a number of luxury resorts throughout Phuket.

The series also featured several well-known Thai personalities and actors, including Lalisa Manobal, Praya Lundberg, Patravadi Mejudhon, Tayme Thapthimthong, Dom Hetrakul, Suthichai Yoon and Yothin Udomsanti.
