Nene Royal Wins America’s Got Talent 2026, Becoming First Thai Champion

Sixteen-year-old singer and guitarist Nene Royal from Phuket has won America’s Got Talent 2026, becoming the first contestant from Thailand to claim the title in the history of the US talent show.

The result was announced by host Terry Crews during the live Season 21 finale on NBC on September 23. The broadcast took place on the morning of September 24 in Thailand.

Nene, whose real name is Rattikan “Praew” Amloy, received the highest number of votes from eligible viewers in the United States and Puerto Rico. She competed against nine other finalists for the Season 21 title and the advertised US$1 million grand prize.

Her victory marks the culmination of a remarkable run for the young singer and guitarist, who began the competition from Phuket with ambitions of building an international career as a rock artist.

Nene first appeared on America’s Got Talent with a performance of “Zombie” while playing guitar. She later advanced through the competition with performances combining vocals, guitar and percussion.

Her live quarterfinal performance of “Black Hole Sun” earned a Live Golden Buzzer from judge Mel B, sending her directly to the grand final.

The Season 21 finale brought together 10 finalists competing for the championship. Nene’s victory makes her the first Thai performer to win America’s Got Talent.

The win also secures the show’s advertised US$1 million prize, marking a major milestone in the Phuket teenager’s rise from local performances to an international television audience.
