Nearly 4,000 Meth Pills Seized at Phuket Checkpoint, Suspect Arrested

Police in Phuket have arrested a suspected drug trafficker after intercepting a large quantity of methamphetamine at a checkpoint.



The operation took place in the early hours of March 31 at the Tha Chatchai checkpoint, a key control point on the island. Officers stopped a suspicious vehicle and carried out a search.



During the inspection, authorities discovered 3,981 methamphetamine tablets hidden inside the car. In addition to the drugs, police seized a Toyota C-HR and an iPhone believed to be linked to the case.



The suspect was immediately taken into custody and informed of the charges and legal rights. Both the individual and the confiscated items were transferred to investigators at the local police station for further legal action.


Officials have not disclosed the identity of the suspect. The case is now under investigation as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
