Luxury Villa Fire in Kamala Brought Under Control Without Injuries

Authorities in Kamala have confirmed that no one was injured after a fire broke out at a luxury villa on Phuket’s west coast on the evening of August 12. The incident occurred at a property within the Ayara development in Moo 6, Kamala.

Initial reports of smoke and flames circulating online were later officially confirmed by both the Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Organization (OrBorTor Kamala) and Kamala Police.

According to local officials, emergency services received a report of the fire at approximately 5:13 p.m. The blaze was concentrated on the third floor of the villa. Firefighters from Kamala and supporting emergency response units were dispatched to the scene and began suppression efforts immediately.

Police reported receiving notification of the incident at around 5:10 p.m. The affected property was identified as Villa 22/23 in Moo 6, Kamala. Preliminary information indicates that a friend of a house employee was the first to notice the fire on the upper floor and alerted emergency services.

When firefighters arrived, the villa was unoccupied. The flames caused damage to rooms on the third floor, but emergency crews successfully prevented the fire from spreading further. By approximately 6:10 p.m., the situation had been fully brought under control.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire, while an assessment of the financial damage is still underway.

The incident is the latest in a series of notable fires affecting Phuket’s tourism-related properties this month. On August 3, a fire significantly damaged a restaurant building in Kata. No injuries were reported in that case either, although photographs suggested substantial property losses.

Investigators initially believed the Kata fire may have been linked to an electrical fault near an elevator shaft between the first and second floors. However, final findings and official damage estimates have not yet been released.
