Gunman on the Run After Shooting Co-Worker at Phuket Warehouse

Police in Phuket have launched a manhunt after a suspect fled the scene of a shooting at a warehouse on April 6, leaving a colleague seriously injured.

Officers from Mueang Phuket Police Station were alerted to the incident by staff at Mission Hospital Phuket, where the victim had been taken for treatment. The injured man, identified as 40-year-old Wirut, sustained

gunshot wounds to his body and leg. He was conscious upon arrival but remained in critical condition.

According to police, the shooting occurred at a warehouse belonging to a retail business in Phuket’s Mueang district. The suspect, 50-year-old Prakit, worked at the same location as a sales employee alongside the victim.

A friend of the victim, Jakkrit Panmee, told investigators he was not present during the incident. He said Wirut called him asking for help, prompting him to rush to the warehouse, where he found his friend lying victim and bleeding. He then transported him to the hospital.

CCTV footage reviewed by police shows the suspect approaching Wirut and speaking with him moments before opening fire. Investigators say Prakit then briefly chased the victim and discharged another shot before fleeing the scene.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear. Jakkrit stated he was unaware of any conflict between the two men. Police are waiting for the victim’s condition to stabilize so they can question him, while efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect continue.

The case follows another recent shooting incident in Phuket reported in February, in which a foreign national was arrested over the fatal shooting of another иностранца in Patong. Authorities have yet to confirm the motive in that case, despite widespread speculation online.
