French Fugitive Wanted by Interpol Arrested at Phuket Resort

Authorities in Phuket have arrested a French national who was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice issued at the request of Luxembourg over a series of serious criminal allegations.

The 29-year-old suspect, identified only as Mr. Chirrane, was detained by officers from the Crime Suppression Division Region 8 (CSD Region 8) outside his hotel room at a resort in Patong, Kathu District.
According to investigators, Luxembourg is seeking the suspect in connection with several major offenses. The allegations include participation in a criminal organization, money laundering, kidnapping, unlawful detention, hostage-taking, armed robbery carried out by multiple offenders, and extortion.

Following the arrest, the suspect was handed over to Phuket Immigration officials to begin the legal process required for extradition.
Thai authorities confirmed that Mr. Chirrane is expected to be returned to Luxembourg, where he will face prosecution in accordance with the outstanding criminal charges.
