Foreign Motorcyclist Sought After Hit-and-Run Injures Phuket Teen

A foreign motorcyclist is being sought by police after allegedly causing a serious hit-and-run crash involving a Thai teenager in Phuket’s Rawai area.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on May 10. According to the victim’s mother, who later shared details online, a foreign rider carrying two passengers suddenly changed lanes and collided with her son’s motorcycle.

The impact threw the teenager off his bike and left him with multiple injuries. Photos shared on local social media pages showed wounds to his left leg, right knee, and both arms. His red Honda Wave motorcycle was also badly damaged, especially along the left side.

Witnesses and the victim’s family said the foreign rider fled immediately after the crash and allegedly drove through a red light while escaping the scene. The motorcycle was reportedly heading toward Promthep Cape.

The boy’s mother said she filed a police report and personally gathered CCTV footage from the area. She claimed the motorcycle’s registration plate can clearly be seen in the footage, but no significant progress has been made in the investigation.

Frustrated by the lack of updates, she turned to social media to ask the public for help identifying the suspect and to pressure authorities to take action.

Police have not yet publicly identified the foreign rider or released additional information about the case. The teenager’s current condition has also not been officially updated beyond the injuries shown in the circulated images.

The incident follows several recent hit-and-run cases involving foreign motorists in Phuket, raising renewed concerns about road safety and traffic law enforcement on the island.
