Fire Breaks Out at Arab Restaurant in Patong

A fire broke out at an Arab restaurant in central Patong on the evening of September 14. No one was injured, while authorities continue to investigate what caused the incident.

According to Patong Police, an emergency call was received at around 8:55pm. Fire crews from the local municipality were dispatched to Al Yemen Al Saeed restaurant on Soi Sansabai, across the road from Bangla Road.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control before it could spread to other parts of the restaurant or neighbouring businesses.

The fire was reported in the kitchen on the third floor of the building. A restaurant employee who was working on the first floor reportedly noticed a smell of smoke coming from above.

After going upstairs, the employee found the kitchen on fire and alerted the emergency services. Initial information suggested that the kitchen may have been left unattended at the time, but this has not been confirmed.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
