CCTV Captures Foreign Woman Urinating at Entrance of Phuket Beachwear Shop

A surveillance camera at a market in Phuket recorded a foreign woman urinating at the entrance of a beachwear shop before leaving the area.

The footage was shared by Phuket Times on August 15 and reportedly originated from the Karon area. However, the exact date and time of the incident were not disclosed.

According to the video, the woman, dressed in white shorts and a sleeveless top, approached the shop entrance, stopped briefly, lowered her shorts and relieved herself before walking away. Moments later, an elderly woman who appeared to be responsible for the store slowly approached the entrance and discovered what had happened.

The identity of the woman has not been made public, and there has been no confirmation as to whether the business owner filed an official complaint with local authorities.

Incidents involving inappropriate behaviour by tourists have occasionally attracted attention in Thailand’s resort destinations. Similar cases have previously been reported in Phuket and other popular tourist areas.

In December last year, a foreign woman was filmed urinating outside a restaurant on Koh Tao. Earlier, images circulated online showing foreign visitors relieving themselves beside a public road in Phuket. Restaurant owners have also complained in the past about tourists defecating near their businesses.

Business operators and local residents have repeatedly pointed to the limited availability of public toilets in some tourist areas, arguing that additional facilities could help reduce such incidents.

Under Thai regulations, public urination and defecation are considered violations of public cleanliness and nuisance laws. Offenders can face fines, although enforcement is generally handled by municipal authorities rather than police officers.
