A 17-year-old Russian tourist who was reported missing has been found in critical condition in a Phuket hospital after reportedly being involved in a road accident.

The teenager’s family lost contact with him at around 3am on October 4 and began searching for him. He had reportedly been staying in Bang Tao and was planning to meet friends on Bangla Road in Patong.

According to information provided by people involved in the search, the teenager left his accommodation but never reached the meeting point. He did not respond to messages sent by friends or relatives through Telegram.

His friends went to the accommodation to look for him but found no one there. His mother and older sister subsequently contacted Thai acquaintances for assistance, while information about the missing teenager was circulated on Thai social media.

An update on October 6 reported that the teenager had been located unconscious in a Phuket hospital. He was reportedly travelling towards Bangla Road to meet his friends when the accident occurred.

Russian media reports said the teenager was the only survivor of the crash and remained in serious condition in hospital. He reportedly had no identification documents with him at the time, which made it difficult for medical staff and police to immediately establish his identity and contact his relatives.

The accident reportedly involved a local taxi. Details about the circumstances of the collision and the other people involved have not been disclosed.

The teenager remains unconscious under medical care in Thailand. There was no information available on whether his family had arrived in Phuket.

The case highlights the difficulties that can arise when accident victims are left without identification documents, particularly when relatives are searching for a missing person at the same time.
