Thousands Join Phuket Pride 2026 Grand Parade in Old Town

Phuket concluded its month-long Pride celebrations on Saturday, June 27, with the Phuket Pride 2026 Grand Parade through the streets of Phuket Old Town. More than 2,000 people took part in the event, making it one of the largest Pride gatherings held on the island.

Held under the theme "We are ONE – Together in Love," the parade served as the highlight of this year's Pride program, which had begun ahead of June with a series of events in Patong.

Participants included representatives from government agencies, the tourism industry, local businesses, community organizations, and members of the LGBTQIAN+ community. A colorful procession featuring 25 decorated floats and performance groups made its way through Phuket's historic district before concluding near the former Chartered Bank building, where the official closing ceremony and live entertainment took place.

Support for LGBTQIAN+ equality has remained a consistent policy in Thailand over recent years, regardless of changes in political leadership. The current administration of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul continues the inclusive approach adopted by the previous governments of Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Srettha Thavisin.

Both national and provincial authorities continue promoting Thailand and Phuket as welcoming destinations for international travelers. Tourism officials emphasize that visitors are welcome regardless of their nationality, religion, gender, age, or personal beliefs.

Phuket Pride once again received broad support from the private sector, including property developers, hotels, retailers, restaurants, entertainment venues, and tourism-related businesses, highlighting the event's growing importance for both the local community and the island's tourism industry.
