The crash occurred at around 10:50am just beyond Sarasin Bridge, near the turnoff to Wat Tha Chatchai in Mai Khao subdistrict.
According to the local police report, the collision involved a motorcycle carrying three people and an 18-wheel truck with a trailer. The truck driver, identified as Thawikiat Yotkhong, told police that the motorcycle suddenly changed direction while attempting to avoid a passenger car entering the road from the temple area.
