A charity running event will take place in Phuket on May 1, organized to support Chalong Hospital. The initiative was announced by the provincial office of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, with the event scheduled at Bang Wad Reservoir.

The run is timed to coincide with Labor Day, which in Thailand is observed as a public holiday and is traditionally marked by nationwide activities highlighting workers’ rights.

Details about the “May Day Run” were shared on March 30 via the Phuket Public Relations Office. Registration opened on the same day, allowing participants to sign up in advance.

Although the exact race distance has not yet been officially confirmed, the route is expected to follow the road encircling Bang Wad Reservoir, which stretches approximately 6 kilometers and features relatively gentle elevation changes.

Organizers promise a variety of prizes for participants. The registration fee is set at 350 baht and includes a commemorative T-shirt designed specifically for the event.

The preliminary schedule outlines an early morning start. Registration will begin at 5:00 a.m., followed by a group warm-up session featuring Zumba. The official opening ceremony is planned shortly after, leading into the run itself, which will take place between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

After crossing the finish line, participants can expect an awards ceremony, as well as a casual outdoor breakfast and entertainment program. The event is scheduled to conclude by 10:00 a.m.
