His Majesty Maha Vajiralongkorn has officially endorsed a new cabinet proposed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The approved list of ministers was published in the Royal Gazette on March 31.

The newly formed administration, often referred to as the “second cabinet of Anutin,” is scheduled to be sworn in on April 6, which coincides with Chakri Day. The government is expected to present its policy agenda to parliament the following day.

Observers have noted an unusually high number of deputy prime ministers in the new cabinet. A total of seven officials have been appointed to these roles, including Yodchanan Wongsawat, who is connected to prominent political figures Somchai Wongsawat and Thaksin Shinawatra.

Out of 35 cabinet positions, the majority have been allocated to members of the Bhumjaithai Party, led by Anutin. Coalition partners from the Pheu Thai Party received a smaller share, securing eight ministerial posts.

Key appointments in the cabinet include:

  • Prime Minister: Anutin Charnvirakul

  • Deputy Prime Ministers:

Songsak Thongsri, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Suphajee Suthumpun, Pakeorn Ninprapan, Yodchanan Wongsawat, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn

  • Minister of Defense: Adun Boonthumcharoen

  • Minister of Finance: Ekniti Nitithanprapas

  • Minister of Foreign Affairs: Sihasak Phuangketkeow

  • Minister of Energy: Akanat Promphan

  • Minister of Transport: Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn

  • Minister of Tourism and Sports: Surasak Phanchanworakun

  • Minister of Justice: Ruttaphon Naowarat

  • Minister of Public Health: Pattana Promphat

  • Minister of Culture: Sabeeda Thaised

The new cabinet reflects a political balance that favors Anutin’s party while still maintaining coalition representation. Analysts say the structure, particularly the large number of deputy prime ministers, may influence how responsibilities are distributed within the government.
