Phuket Car Crash Injures Five, Including Two German Children
Five people, including two young German children, were injured when a car struck a roadside food vendor and pedestrians in the Karon area of Phuket on October 19.

Karon Police Station received a report of the accident at around 3:50pm. The collision occurred on Luang Phor Chuan Road, outside Orchid Hotel and a massage shop in Karon subdistrict.
Officers arriving at the scene found a white Toyota Corolla Cross on the roadside pavement. The vehicle was registered in Bangkok and driven by a 53-year-old Thai woman identified as Suttisa. She was reportedly not injured.

The crash also damaged a motorcycle fitted with a sidecar used to sell deep-fried meatballs. The vendor, a 33-year-old Thai man identified as Prasit, sustained minor injuries.
Five other people were injured while walking along the road. They were two Thai women aged 36 and 50, a 45-year-old German woman, and two German children aged seven and two.
All five injured people were taken to Chalong Hospital for medical treatment. No further information about their conditions was provided in the report.

According to the driver's account to police, she was unfamiliar with the road and had been following directions on a GPS application on her mobile phone. She said she looked away from the road to check the map as she approached the location where the collision occurred.
Suttisa reportedly told officers that the car first struck the mobile meatball vendor, with the impact leading to injuries among the other victims.
Police have not announced whether any legal charges have been filed against the driver. The circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation.
