A foreign man was attacked and robbed by three individuals at an ATM in Patong, Phuket, in an incident that has drawn attention online. Local police have not yet issued an official statement.

According to reports, the incident—which was captured on surveillance cameras and widely covered by the media—occurred around 5 a.m. on March 19 near the seafood market in Patong.

In the video, the man is seen trying to withdraw cash while another individual, believed to be Thai, stands closely behind him. The foreigner appears unable to complete the transaction and may be involved in a verbal dispute with someone nearby.

At one point, he seems unsteady and nearly falls before regaining his balance. Tensions rise further when two more men approach, surrounding him.

The three suspects are believed to have demanded money, pressuring the man to hand over cash. He is later seen making a phone call but still appears unable to provide any money.

The situation then turns violent when one of the men strikes him in the face. The others quickly join in, assaulting him and searching his belongings. They reportedly took cash before fleeing the scene.

After the нападение, the victim managed to stand up and attempted to chase the group. However, no further details have been released regarding the outcome.

The footage has sparked mixed reactions on Thai social media. Some users urged authorities to investigate thoroughly and protect the country’s reputation as a safe tourist destination. Others speculated that the incident could have stemmed from a payment dispute, with claims that some foreigners have previously used ATMs as an excuse to avoid settling bills.

As of now, it remains unclear whether the victim has filed a formal complaint. Police have yet to provide clarification or updates on the case.
